The Brain Awareness Week (BAW) is celebrated in 2015 on March 16 – 22. The event, initiated by the American Foundation DANA (http://www.dana.org), aims to provide a global framework for disseminating knowledge of the importance of the brain for humanity. It aims to increase the awareness of the general public as well as of the policy makers of both the latest progress in understanding the mechanisms of normal and pathological brain functioning and of the problems faced by researchers in neuroscience that generate this progress.

National Neuroscience Society of Romania (http://www.snn.ro) in partnership with the Scientific Organization of the Medical Students (http://www.soms.ro) and “Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy (http://www.umf.ro) organizes in Bucharest the event: “Illuminating Brains”.
